Desirol Limited Modern Slavery Statement 2025
This statement is made in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the measures that Desirol Limited has implemented and continues to implement to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not occurring within our organization.
Our business
Desirol Limited provides social care services in the UK. Our mission is to deliver exceptional care, promoting the independence of our residents while treating them and their families with dignity and respect. We strictly prohibit any form of modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations or supply chains. Our commitment includes implementing robust systems and controls to prevent such practices and expecting our suppliers to uphold these high standards.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to identifying, preventing, and monitoring risks related to slavery, human trafficking, and forced labor in our business and supply chains. Our zero-tolerance approach encompasses the following measures:
● Ensuring all individuals working with or on behalf of Desirol Limited support and uphold our stance against modern slavery.
● Assigning responsibility to all employees and contractors to prevent, detect, and report any potential breaches of this policy.
● Engaging with stakeholders and suppliers to address and mitigate the risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
● Applying a risk-based approach to our contracting processes, subjecting them to regular reviews.
● Requiring contractors, suppliers, and recruitment agencies to confirm their compliance with standards aimed at combating modern slavery and trafficking.
● Considering audits of suppliers to assess their adherence to modern slavery requirements, based on ongoing risk assessments and due diligence processes.
Taking appropriate action, including potential termination of relationships, if individuals or organizations working on our behalf breach this policy.
Our Policies
To reinforce our commitment, we have established several key policies:
● Modern Slavery Policy Statement: Included in our employee handbook and circulated annually to remind all employees of the importance of vigilance against modern slavery and the necessity of prompt reporting.
● Robust Recruitment Policy: Conducting eligibility checks to work in the UK for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or forced labor.
● Fair Remuneration Processes: Ensuring employees are paid directly and at least the national minimum wage.
● Whistleblowing Policy: Empowering employees to raise concerns about treatment of colleagues or practices within our business or supply chain without fear of reprisals.
● Protection of Vulnerable Adults Policies: Outlining our duties to protect vulnerable individuals, including both those in our care and our colleagues.
Training Programs: Providing updated training to help employees recognize situations where modern slavery and human trafficking may occur and reinforcing their duty to report any concerns.
Our Suppliers
Desirol Limited’s supply chains involve the provision of staff through employment and recruitment agencies, goods and services for the maintenance of residential care facilities, and items associated with the care of older adults. We maintain consistent supplier relationships, providing stability in our procurement processes. We work with a procurement supplier, ensuring they are aware of the requirements under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and our expectation of compliance. Our approved supplier and contractor process ensures adherence to our agreed terms and conditions. Due diligence on all suppliers and contractors includes confirmation that:
● They have taken steps to eradicate modern slavery within their business.
● They hold their own suppliers accountable over modern slavery.
● They pay their employees at least the national minimum wage/national living wage, as appropriate.
We may terminate the contract at any time should any instances of modern slavery come to light.
Our Performance Indicators
We evaluate the effectiveness of our measures to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chain by monitoring processes and reviewing reports from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies that may indicate modern slavery practices.
